Question:
Partials for lower teeth: Can partials be made for lower left side of mouth if I have no teeth on my bottom left side?
I am having the molar removed and the 2 teeth in front of the molar. That is a total of 3 teeth being extracted.
If I have no teeth in the back how does the partial fit? What does it attach to? ..Visitor from OH
Answer:
Lower partials can be made for teeth if even just one tooth is left. We use the teeth you do have for clasping. Obviously the partial will be more stable if it has more teeth to hold on to.
You may want to ask your dentist about implants to replace these missing teeth. If these are the only teeth missing in your mouth, it would be more comfortable to replace these with
"fixed" permanent teeth than a removable partial denture.
