Question:
My wife's sister's 4 year old just had 6 teeth pulled at one time. Now that don't sound right to me but what do I know. Is that OK to do? He hasn't stopped bleeding. They took him to the ER and they kept him and they couldn't get it to stop. So they shipped him to a larger more equipped hospital about 200 miles away. I am over 300 miles away-I'm just worndering if this is normal or what do you think is wrong. I just heard he's not doing very good. Well thank you for whatever help you offer...Daniel
Answer:
Daniel, I'm sorry to hear that he's not doing well; but hope by now he is better. Without knowing the situation, it's hard to give you a yes/no right/wrong answer. I know that it is not uncommon to remove/extract 6 teeth. I do this often while I'm in the operating room.
The bleeding issue is another story. My guess is that he has a bleeding disorder that was not known prior to the extraction/removal of the teeth. Hopefully, by now, they have found/solved the problem and he is doing well. I hope this has shed a little light for you.
