Question:
I am almost fifty years old and have about four or five crowns. Within the last four months or so, I have developed a progressive sensitivity and pain in all of them simultaneously. I'm becoming more and more sensitive to cold and heat, and it's becoming more difficult to chew anything very tough or hard.
I'm going to talk to my dentist soon, and I am assuming I'll be needing some root canal procedure. I've never had any of this sort of dental work done before. But why would they all become a problem at one time? Is there anything else that might be going on here that I should be concerned about? ...Ken in MI
Answer:
I think you have diagnosed your problem correctly. It may be the age of the
crowns under the bridge. Your dentist will be able to tell. If you have
complicated root canals, contact me and I can refer you to the best specialist in Metro Detroit.
