Question:
Small Mouth: I have a very small mouth.
It is hard to keep it open for long periods of time without a significant amount of pain. Would sedation be an option for me?
I understand I would have to be evaluated as I take medication for HRT, High blood pressure, GERD, and depression.
I have not seen a dentist in over 5 years. The last one I saw hurt me so bad because I could not open my mouth wide enough that I am just scared to go back.. ...Visitor from TX
Answer:
I have treated patients with IV Sedation and Oral Sedation who've had limited opening ability.
Sedation treatment can help your jaw and muscles relax so that care can be provided for you.
Search your local area for a consult with a sedation dentist for a second opinion.
