Question:
I have had sensitivity problems in #9 for about 1.5 yrs now. My dentist has looked at it and does not see a problem. I am still in pain. Often it hurts (nervy pain) when i'am just hanging out and not eating or drinking anything. I did get an NTI because I clench at night and i was clenching at the time the problem started. My dentist seems to think it will be ok but I am worried that my tooth may be cracked. I did the light test and the light does not pass thru at one particular angle. I am getting obsessed with this, particularly since it's a front tooth. I was told that upper incisors are the hardest to pull and that worries me. ...Visitor from PA
Answer:
Your having the NTI is very good; will keep stress off of the tooth at night.
Cracks are generally difficult to see, but pretty easy in front teeth. I would take the NTI to your dentist; maybe it is putting pressure on the tooth.
Also, ask him to check the bite and look with a light for fractures. Incisors are very easy to extract, but don't think you need to worry about this. Also, an x-ray and check for vitality to make sure the nerve is not affected will help to find answers.
