Question:
Two weeks ago I had several extractions done. The dentist said that the number 13 "root tip exploded into my sinus". I have seen an Ear Nose and Throat doctor and we are waiting for the results of my CT scan.

However my dentist now refers to it as a tooth and the xray does look like a tooth. My question(s) are how can this happen and what are the chances that I won't have to have this removed? ...Beverly in PA

Answer:
Beverly, it is very common and unfortunately it happens quite often. You need an oral surgeon, not an ENT. A sinus entry/lift surgery may be required. You have to remove the tooth and an oral surgeon is your best bet.
