Question:
Implants and Sinuses: I am interested in implants as I am missing teeth along my smile line.
However, my dentist says that my sinuses have dropped and suggests a partial. Is there a surgical remedy for the sinus issue that will allow me to move forward with the implants? ....Visitor from WA D.C.
Answer:
Absolutely! You may have several options.
First, there are implants that are specifically designed to use in ares where there is minimal bone height. This would allow you to have the areas restored with out the need of additional grafting procedures. This would reduce the cost and the number of surgical procedures.
If a sinus lift is required there are several ways of increasing the amount of available bone. Some are much less invasive, and costly, than others. The longer the area is without teeth, the more the bone resorbs.
