Question:
I am 31 and have very crowded teeth. They appear to be varying lengths, and the front two are crossed.
I do not want to wear braces - I'd rather have crooked teeth than wear them - and am wondering if veneers are an option for me.
I'm also living in Bangalore, India, and while there are many good dentists here I am worried about finding someone scrupulous and well-trained in cosmetic dentistry.
Are veneers an acceptable option for my very crowded teeth? ...Visitor from Bangalore India
Answer:
It sounds like you need ortho work. Veneers might be theoretically possible but the probability is high that the tooth modifications would be very invasive to take care of the degree of change you would need to manage crowding and angled teeth.
The cost for a good veneer treatment using premium porcelain laminates would far outstrip the cost for the sensible (in terms of cost and invasiveness) treatment you probably need.
Investigate Accelerated Orthodontics, Invisalign, I-Braces and perhaps the use of the Ice clear ortho brackets as alternatives to the orthodontic treatment assumptions you may have.
