Teeth Grinding Clenching Ask The Dentist Richard Winter Question:
Pediatric Bruxism - Infant Noisey Teeth Grinding: I have an 11 month old boy.

He has four teeth on top and three on the bottom. He has been grinding his teeth since he was about 9 months old. He is grinding his teeth down.

Sometimes he uses so much force, it sounds like he is going to crack his teeth. Is there anything I can do to help him save his teeth? ...Visitor from MI

Answer:
There is nothing to be done at this age. If you are truly concerned and there is substantial wear on the child's teeth, you need to go to a pedodontist or children's dentist to examine them.

Usually, Mother Nature regulates the wear on infants to make sure they are able to successfully last, til the next set arrives.
