Question:
I have receding gums - Pariodontal problems. Will the Crest White Strips cause a problem to my gums. Will it be safe to use with this problem? ...Sharon
Answer:
Sharon, you most likely will get sensitivity. I would recommend using some ACT
Fluoride (from the drug store) for a few weeks to toughen up the roots. Swish with it twice a day for about 4 minutes. Let it soak your teeth really well.
The fluoride will harden the teeth and roots and keep you from getting sensitivity. Avoid Listerine, Scope, or any mouthwashes that contain alcohol. For more info about taking care of your breath visit my website at Michigan-Cosmetic-TMJ-Dentist.com
Your dentist can also make you molds for your mouth that can be designed to
keep away from sensitive areas. You should not bleach your teeth without a
professional check-up. The Whitestrips are great, but they take a while to
see results. Look into the new Britesmile procedure.
