Question:
Some dentists say veneers can be bleached or altered in colour. Is this right? How long will home bleaching take to get my teeth brilliant white
with dental bleach of 10% carbamide? ...Visitor from Grantham, Lincolnshire, England
Answer:
Bleaching is not a panacea. I would say that bleaching is not possible of
teeth that have been veneered before.
The short answer to your question though is that the longer you use the
bleaching material the faster it will work. I have seen patients use the 10%
take home systems for 6 to 8 months and end up with great smiles... But that
is a long time... Today in our office we use lasers and ultraviolet lights
to speed the process up and then follow up with take home bleaching systems.
It works and works well.
