Question: Cosmetic Treatment for Tetracycline with Veneers: My son is 7 and his first bottom 2 permanent teeth have come in badly miscolored with differant colored specs on each tooth. His teeth became discolored due to Tetracycline.
His top permanent tooth is now coming in and it too is totaly miscolored with specs also. I know that when he gets older he can get veneers but I am worried about him being teased in school and what this may do to his self confidence. Is there anything that can be done about this? ...Visitor from IN
Answer:
Sometimes areas that are discolored can be removed with a laser or a bur.
Then the problem is over.
If that would not work then if your son was my son I would probably consider using a composite system that can be done in one visit. You may be able to cover the discolored areas until he is old enough to do the veneers.
