Hi... For about 6 months now almost every day when I wake up especially in the morning my mouth is swollen with sticky white stuff. What can be causing this? I also have servere TMJ. Can this be from the TMJ? ....Visitor from MA

Answer:
Sounds like your tmj is causing your salivary glands to "strangle" themselves. This causes ropy saliva and dry mouth, leading to bigger problems down the road (cavities, gum disease, etc.).

Besides a tmj specialist, you also need to consult with your oral surgeon to make sure nothing else is wrong.
