Question:
LVI TMJ Treatment: No Improvement: I have suffered with severe TMJ symptoms for years, had multiple splints, therapy, braces and surgery. All of which could of been avoided (supposedly).
I have been with 2 docs trained through Las Vegas Institute and am on a second orthotic with no improvement, .....any suggestions? ....Visitor from CO

TMJ symptoms and no successful treatment:
Sometimes we get treatment for various symptoms and it doesn't work. We may go to multiple doctors and nothing seems to work. Sometimes it can be something simple that was overlooked by all of them.
It appears that all of the approaches have been mechanical in nature and you mention LVI docs as if they are something special.
Perhaps your symptoms are not mechanical but are chemical in nature. Are you taking antidepressants? Medications can contribute TMJ symptoms.
You may want to consult your MD and discuss other possible causes of your symptoms.
Sometimes a chiropractor can be helpful. Sometimes a combination of medication adjustment, chiropractor and a effective splint can be helpful.
