Question:
I recieved a splint to control my tmj and after I recieved it and wore for about 2 hours my jaws were swollen and throat is really inflammed.

I can't eat or drink... even water burns. Is there some thing I can take to make it feel things feel better? ...Visitor from AR

Answer:
For the time being, stop using it.

Let your dentist know what is going on and to additionally confirm you are not having an allergic reaction to the materials used.

If an allergic reaction is suspected, get the "ingredients list" of the appliance and consult with an allergist, internist or toxicologist.
