Question:
I have intermitant shooting pain in my left ear and also sorness in my cheek and the gum on the top of my left side of my mouth for two days. I went to the doctor after the first day and I am on zithromax antibiotics for 5 days. Could this be related to a abcess in the gums, although I dont have teeth in the pained area?

Answer:
It may be a sinus infection, or a myriad of other things. You need x-rays and maybe a consult with an oral surgeon. Get a diagnosis, not antibiotics! Also, get checked for TMJ and see an ENT doctor.
