Video: Effects of Tongue Piercing

Question:
I have suffered with mouth ulcers all my life but in the last few years I have also been getting a little white bump from time to time
on the tip of my tongue, almost like a pimple. It is extremely sore until I pop it.
This week I have had the same thing but much more painful. Popping didn't work. I use Kenalog in orabase for the ulcers. A godsend. But unfortunately, it does nothing for the tongue bump. I am in excrutiating pain now or about 4 days. Any tips on what I can do to remedy this or what to take for the pain. I am at my wits end. And Aleve or aspirin does not work. ...Visitor from CA
Answer:
The kenalog will help with healing ulcers such as you described.
It is a steroid ointment useful in the prevention of inflammation. The
lesion on the tip of your tongue sounds like an infected tastebud or
papilla.
You should have this looked at by your dentist if it doesn't heal in the next day or so. Ointments that have benzocaine for numbing can aid in pain relief. Ask your dentist or pharmacist if something over the counter can help. Good luck
