Question:
For a week now, I have had a foul, metallic taste in my mouth, as well as bad breath despite brushing my teeth regularly. Additionally, my mouth and tongue feel hot and burning, and the area under my tongue is sore.

What could possibly be causing such discomfort, and can it be treated? I have a dental cleaning scheduled in a month from now, but is that too long of a wait to have this checked? I appreciate your help. ...Dawn in PA

Answer:
Dawn, it may be a number of things, from vitamin deficiency to other health problems. Get a physical and also get evaluated for sleep apnea. Click here to read my article on how to take care of your mouth.
