Question:
Breaking Jaw and Surgery required for Underbite? How can an under-bite be fixed?
I was told that major surgery was involved and this included the breakage of my jaw bone. Is this the procedure for most under-bites? ...Visitor from CA
Answer:
Underbites can be handled differently depending on the various characteristics of your face and the degree of underbite.
Some patients don't want surgery but it is the best choice, some people don't want surgery and
surgery is not the best choice. It all depends on what is seen clinically and radiographically.
There are no rules in dental treatment reguarding underbites. The treatment is individualized for each patient.
