Dental Consultant Biography

William Letcher, D.M.D.
Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry

William Letcher graduated from St. Mark's Prepatory School in Dallas, Texas in 1967. He went on to Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics in 1971. He remained at Washington University for his Medical Dentistry Doctorate and graduated in 1975.

Professional Affiliations - Activities
Dr. Letcher became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry in 1991. He is also a graduate of the L.D. Pankey Institute in South Florida, the Misch Implant Institute at the University of Pittsburgh, and holds several U.S. patents on crown fabrication. Dr. Letcher has been licensed to administer I.V. sedation for all dental procedures.

The reconstructive and restorative talents of Dr. Letcher began shortly after becoming established in his local Tulsa practice. Certain intellectual curiousities were spurred by his undergraduate training and his intense interest in the aesthetic and restorative aspects of dentistry.

Patent Development
Within 5 years of becoming established, Dr. Letcher's practice became heavily focused on the cosmetic aspects of dentistry. Possessing a keen interest in structural components and the various physical properties of commonly used reconstructive products (porcelain, crowns, bridgework, etc) Dr. Letcher developed a hybrid process for fabricating dental crowns and bridges that eventually earned a patent.

Dr. Letcher's intense interest in cosmetic and reconstructive perfection led to the development of his own on-site dental lab. It was determined by a fair amount of frustration at times, that Dr. Letcher could not maintain a constant and permanent influence on the laboratory process. Common errors in measurement, constitutional differences in ceramic materials and idiosyncratic differences between patients became a thing of the past once Dr. Letcher established his own lab.
