Question:
I had my wisdom tooth (lower right side) removed about 4 months ago and ended up in hospital 3 days later with a very bad infection.
And since then lots of problems eating, swollen glans and pain with headaches. I went back to my Dr and had my top tooth out right side and I'm still having problems its no better. I can't open my mouth well. ... Visitor from Australia
Answer:
The extractions have probably change your occlusion, which can be a common event that can wreak havoc for your tmj joints.
If you are experiencing pain or sensitivity issues that seem to be close to the jaw joint and ear, get some consults with a tmj or neuromuscular dentist.
They typically have assessment and diagnostic instruments and the experience required to measure even the slightest changes in occlusion.
Readjusting and normalizing your occlusion shouldn't be difficult... with the right dentist.
