I had my wisdom teeth removed on Monday. My bottom teeth were impacted. On the right side of my lower jaw is very sore and swollen. It's been 4 days now with no change. I called my doctor and he gave me some antibiotics. How long will it take for the swollen area to go away? ...Michael in CA

Mike, it can take quite some time to heal from wisdom tooth removal. I would recommend taking some Motrin for the inflammation and finish the antibiotics
he/she gave you.
Impacted tooth removal usually involves removing bone to get the tooth out and this can cause swelling. Anti-inflammatory meds such as
Motrin 800 mg. can help the swelling.
