Wisdom Teeth Extractions Yes or No?

Question:
I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled a week ago by a really rude dentist and I don't have any feeling in the bottom of my face where the dentist injected the needle before the surgery. Is this normal? ...Visitor from MI

Answer:
I am not sure where you are describing the numbness, but it can happen. Most of the time it's temporary (a few months), sometimes it lasts for years, in the worst case it may be permanent.

It happens because the nerve got injured either from the injection or the extraction. You need to go back and talk to the dentist or oral surgeon. Also make sure you get checked for TMJ and muscular compression, to see whether they may be contributing to the problem I would recommend some muscle relaxants (Flexeril 10mg every day for 2 weeks) and also some steroids.
