Question:
I had two lower wisdom teeth removed and one upper. After the swelling went down I noticed I have a indentation on my left side of my face.
I asked my Dentist about it, and he said it would have nothing to do with the removal of the tooth. But It happened right after it was removed. It really bothers me, and when I look in the mirror it is all I see, and uneven face.
It has now been over two years and my lip is still numb, and my upper teeth have been shifting to the side. Have you ever heard of these problems, and what should I do for it? I have researced jaw implants, and think maybe I should get one on the left side of my face. ...Visitor from CO
Answer:
I am sorry to hear about your situation. Relative to your indentation, I really do not think they are related however with your continued numbness of your lip it is possible that part of the
musculature for facial expression may have some residual effects.
The shifting of your teeth is probably involving how you now chew or function. Without seeing your specific situation it is really hard to continue to guess. I would recommend you see an orthodontist concerning the migration of your teeth and consult with an oral surgeon as well.
I do not think that a jaw implant will become a solution. I wish you good luck in your search for resolution.
