Question:
Wisdom extraction causes sucking sound: A week ago I had my two upper wisdom teeth pulled.
One of them has been packed several times for a dry socket, but the pain was not resolved. After the packing material fell out, I now have a sucking - gurgling sound every time I drink, swish with salt water, etc.
I was told I might have a small perforation into my sinus cavity. I'm wondering how long that will take to heal up, if I have anything to worry about, and anything else I should know to help with the healing. ...Visitor from MN
Answer:
Depending on how large this perforation may be, it might be necessary to re-enter and repair the tear.
It is hard to say for sure without looking at your xrays, photos, and clinical examination. I'm sure if you talk to your surgeon about this, he will enlighten you of your options.
