Question:
I am having my wisdom teeth pulled. I was wondering if it is a very painful process? Will I be able to return to normal activities soon? Will it bleed, and will it bruise or anything? ...Katy in KY

Answer:
Katy, your oral surgeon can answer those specific questions for you better than I can due to the fact that he/she can determine the extent of surgery involved.

To make things easy you may want to use some Peridex mouthwash, take 4 Advils 1 hour before the procedure, and get the surgeon to prescribe some steroids to keep the swelling down. Antibiotics may also be advisable. Of course, some ice following the procedure is helpful along with bed rest.
