Question:
Implants for diabetics: I am a diabetic and was once told that I had lost too much bone tissue to be a candidate for implants.
I have upper and lower dentures. Would it be more of a problem for the lower or both upper and lower? ... Visitor from VA
Answer:
Dentists will sometimes make statements that merely reflect what they have access to or know how to perform.
Bone loss caused by dentures can be treated with several different bone graft technologies. There are
dentists "out there" who can create bone or implant devices for nearly anyone. The hard part is finding those dentists, surgeons or periodontists.
In Baltimore, there is a dentist who can do some amazing things, regardless of how much bone has been lost. Contact me for details.
