Braces Ask The Dentist Edward Leventhal Question:
When your braces hurt should you put somrthing cold or hot on? ...Visitor from CA

Answer:
Amy, when you describe hurt, do you mean your teeth? If so, you can take some pain medication such as tylenol or motrin if you're not allergic to these, to ease the soreness, but this will not take it away 100%. The soreness should only last you a few days to a week. If nothing is relieving this, go back to your orthodontist for a check up.
