FAQ:  Chipped Teeth

Question:
I have a chipped tooth and I've had bonding but it keeps coming off. Someone told me that if you leave it alone eventually it will come down to meet the other tooth.

Is this true and if so how long does it take? ...Visitor from PA

Answer:
Bonding on the edge of a tooth often chips off. If you expect the shortened tooth to grow down so that it will eventually be even, you will be disappointed.

Sometimes we shorten the other teeth to make everything even. You should consult your dentist.
