FAQ:  Chipped Teeth

Question:
My lower left teeth are chipping. I can feel something pointy with my tongue.

It feels wierd and I don't know why this is happening to me. I am only 22 years old. I don't eat anything crunchy or hard and I brush my teeth regularly 3 times a day.

What can I do? What kind of toothpaste do you recommend? What can a dentist do for me ...Visitor from NC

Answer:
You may have some minor orthodontic-bite issues that are growing into larger ones....or.... there could be some kind of nutritional deficit or oral ph issue operating.

In other words, the damage could be due to physical forces operating on the teeth or the tooth structures themselves are compromised.

Consult with a dentist to get a specific diagnosis to find out what can be done to stop this process so future treatments of repairing the chipped teeth don't fail.

A particular choice of toothpaste won't be of much help at this juncture.
