Question:
10 year old daughter has no teeth enamel: My daughter now is 10 years old. When she started to get her permenant set of teeth, they were having no enamel on them.
Till today the enamel has not built and day by day her teeth are worsening and getting more yellow with white lines clearly visible on them. Can you please help me to find a solution to my daughters problem? Tell me a way to create enamel on her teeth if possible.
She does not have any pain in her teeth and no cavities yet. Since one year she has started developing brown stains on her teeth. ...Visitor from Tanzania
Answer:
It sounds as though your daughter has an enamel defect.
This could have been caused by medicine your wife took while pregnant. There is nothing that can be done to build enamel.
The teeth can be restored with composite resin to reinforce the enamel she does have. When she is old enough, she may require crowns to offer a longer lasting solution.
I would take her to a dentist for a consultation to discuss cosmetic options. Best of luck
