Orthodontics Ask The Dentist - Dr. Elizabeth Robles Question:
I had braces years ago. I lost a tooth in the back and my smile has changed I now have an overbite. Is there any way to fix this without going back into braces again? I am 46. ...Visitor from TN

Answer:
If you lost a tooth, then by all means, the way to fix this is to go back into braces. As long as you're healthy, teeth can be moved at any age, from 30's, 50's, even 90's.

If the tooth you have lost was between two teeth, what happens is that all the teeth surrounding the space will collapse into it, and your bite will start 'collapsing'. Please go for an Orthodontic consultation
