Kristin, I.V., but there are some dangers involved. You should only have a well trained surgeon or highly experienced dentist do this for you. They should have a cardiovert machine on hand, as well as necessary emergency equipment.
The physician must be skilled at intubation, general anesthesia and emergency protocol. A hospital background, in my opinion, is a must for the individual treating you. Stay away from any physician who does not show you the proper equipment for performing I.V. sedation.
