Question:
Chronic Sinus Problems:
On the upper right side of my mouth I had a tooth extracted, two root canals and a 5 tooth bridge. I have had a chronic sinus clearing problem and no one seems to be able to figure out the cause.
Tooth #4 needed the root canal but was a difficult diagnosis. The side of my face hurt before it would rain and when I bit on anything, it felt like I was biting on a rock. The second tooth from the back was extracted.
When I wake up in the morning I feel fluid in my cheek above the jaw bone. All xrays and CATscans are normal. Any idea what could be causing this? ....Visitor from NY
Answer:
From the description that you describe you may have a sinus problem. This problem may have been caused by the extraction and there may be a microscopic hole connecting the mouth to the sinus.
Another cause may be that the sinus has always had a problem and masked itself as tooth pain which had triggered all of the dental work. You should be seen by an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor as well as an oral surgeon and an Endodontist.
