I have heard that brusing with baking soda will whiten your teeth over time. Is this true? If so, how long will it take to see results? Are there any drawbacks to using this method? ...Jon in DC

Answer:
Jon, it may, but it is not something we can recommend due to lack of research. Try a baking soda toothpaste or other whitening toothpastes. Be careful not to abrade your teeth with baking soda by brushing too hard. Crest Whitestrips will work better for about $60.
